Surprised by Cardiff being so low, considering they've been top pretty much all season.

It would take a while to work out, but I'd quite like to see the average number of supporters taken away per mile. I think teams like Leeds and Wednesday with already large followings have a big advantage this year in terms of attendances, I bet the average distance to an away game for them this year is much less than 100 miles.

Yeah would be interesting, also the likes of Forest, Leicester n Derby haven't really got far to travel at all.

We would be near top of that list since the division is such a northern one.

The figures you have are incorrect. We currently average 1344 which doesn't include last nights away following at Barnsley

* Fan miles is average number of fans multiplied by the average away distance divided by 1000 (ie, a club that takes more fans to further places will score higher than a club that takes fewer fans a shorter distance).

All distances rounded to the nearest mile (shortest route on Google Maps).

Away following figures taken from this thread.

As you can see, we score highly in the "Fan miles" due to us having the furthest to travel and still having a better than average following.
Joint second with Wednesday :lolol: and a considerable distance behind Leeds.

And no, I don't have anything better to do.

But Leeds and Wednesday bought loads to us ( both midweeks too I think), so not about distance

This hardly chimes well with Brighton's reputation as the greenest city in the land. Our carbon footprint is APPALLING.

Great point.

On a thread posted after Christmas the OP claimed Leicester was bottom of the list, what happened to that?

I think you are referring to my thread which was a different subject -

Which Championship Team Do You Think.....

At the time of posting Leicester were bottom of the pile - since then they have risen one place and been replaced at the bottom by Middlesbrough.

I think you'll find the mocking comes from them constantly claiming to have the "best away support in the Championship" despite their numbers.:rotlf:
