MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
• Brighton lead by 13 wins to 12 after 33 league meetings against Barnsley spanning 55 years.
• The Seagulls have not been beaten in four second level league matches with Barnsley and are searching for their first double over them in 21 years, following a 5-1 victory at the Amex in August with a brace apiece from Ashley Barnes and Craig Mackail-Smith, and one from Wayne Bridge.
• The Tykes have lost only one of their last 12 home games against Brighton (all comps).

Barnsley
• Barnsley slumped to the foot of the table on Saturday, one point from safety, while on FA Cup business, and tumbling to a 5-0 defeat away to Manchester City. It was the second time they had conceded five goals in four winless games in league and cup.
• The Tykes will make history in this match whatever the outcome. They will become the first club to play 3,000 games in second level league football (W1,028, D747, L1,224).
• David Flitcroft's side are the lowest home scorers in the Championship so far this season (18 goals in 17 games), but are also on the longest continuous current scoring sequence in the division of 13 matches.

Brighton & Hove Albion
• Saturday's 1-0 loss away to Bolton, brought an end to Brighton's six-match unbeaten run of four wins and two draws.
• Only Watford have picked up more Championship points in 2013 than the Seagulls, who have conceded a goal a game on average in this league campaign; 36 in 36.
• If selected, Andrea Orlandi will be making his 100th English league appearance.

On saturday people loved the look of the line up, a glut of goals was predicted. We all know how that turned out.

Please people, try to rein it in a bit when the line ups are announced.
