As a local born lad, I've always known the main pier in Brighton as 'Palace Pier'..

though as a BHA fan, hurts me to say that now.. was it ever owned by palarse fans ?

No. It was called the Brighton Marine and Palace Pier from whence it was built. Absolutely nothing to do with Crystal Palace.

The name was informally Palace Pier. I shall always refer to it as that.

I assume (ig)noble haven't managed to sell it yet?

ta. beats me why they would want to. must rake in a fortune with the fruit machines, overpriced bars, concessions etc.

The leccy bill might be painful, mind!

Cesar's Palace casino was names because the owner was a Palace fan too. Buckingham Palace used to be called Buckingham House until the Queen started supporting Palace.
