Barnsley dodgy undersoil heating

Just raising this now early on. Barnsley appear to have a history of not using their undersoli heating very well and there are predicted sub zero temperatures for next week.

This sounds like the screw up at Wolves a couple of seasons back. The undersoil heating was turned up too high, and then left on overnight. The system tripped during the night and the pitch therefore froze. Oops.

The undersoil heating at Oakwell is fine but the club have not switched it on in the past to try and save some money and this has backfired on them. It is rare that matches get called off up here, when it happens it's normally the police saying the surrounding streets are unsafe.

On another note, if by some minor miracle we get a draw at Man City, the replay at Oakwell will be this coming Wednesday 13th March so the Barnsley/Brighton game will be postponed again

How come the replay will be Weds 13th March? Thought replays always the following week?

Not this time...Millwall have confirmed that if their match with Blackburn is a replay it will be this Wednesday: http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/article/in-the-event-of-a-replay-698120.aspx

And the Barnsley Chronicle have confirmed it will be the same for us against Man City. Although I wouldn't hold your breath at us getting a draw there though

I imagine it's because the following week is too close to International break weekend, which is followed by the Easter schedule, meaning the only other chance for a replay would be midweek directly before the next cup Saturday.

We have Cardiff away on Tues 9th April so imagine we could be looking at end of April for it be re-arranged if any of this does happen

23rd or 30th of April would be the only possibilities I think, in the last 2 weeks of the league schedule.
