I've had a long running dispute with one of the major bookies about an unsettled bet. Finally they've paid up and as a goodwill gesture credited a €250 free bet. It's quite a pleasant surprise as its been dragging on for a long time now.

So what should I stick it on? I can get only place it on a single bet and as it's an unexpected bonus I am willing to stick it on something with a bit of a return, not just an even money or wors shot.

wait till the 70th minute of a game that's 2-0 or 3-1 and do WIN or DRAW (double chance) on the winning side.

will get about 1/8 - not much return - but you will get your cash nice and safely.

....or BHA top 6 - will make it super exciting for you.

hedge it ... that way you should keep around £225 guaranteed profit

HOWEVER ... do check if the free bet is SNR first (Stake not Refunded ... i.e you only get the winnings and not the £250)

I'd back it with your bookie and then lay the opposite outcome on Betfair. That way you are laundering pretend money into real money although if the bookie is not giving your stake back, you want to back something to LOSE in order for that set of circumstances to pay out. That means if you want to lay a 10-1 shot you would need to put up 2 and a half grand on betfair so obviously depends on the size of your bankroll

Failing that CINDERS AND ASHES in the Champion Hurdle next Tuesday (as long as its Good ground). I'm friends of friends of some of the owners. They are adament it will be a different horse on Good ground, that it was a better winner of the Supreme last year than the winning distance suggests and they are all super confident for next week (as is Donald Mccain if you read his betfair columns). If hates soft ground though so keep an eye on that.

Go a bit long term. Argies or Spain to win the world cup. Only 4 teams can win it imho, then you can hedge it come next year when the prices will be gone.

He said he has been in a long running dispute with them over an unsettled bet, If it was me I could not wait that long to maybe go through the same shit.... in and out on a quick bet if it was me.

If they have given him the goodwill, that will be fine.
