Inigo Calderon says he was content to leave Ashton Gate with a point following a tight affair against Bristol City.Albion’s Spanish defender told seagulls.co.uk, “It was an ugly game to play in and we realised late on that we couldn’t play the way we wanted to. That probably cost us the whole first half but in the second half we started to play a bit more direct.
“It wasn’t easy because we have lost many players through injury and illness but at the end of the day we have a clean sheet so we take a point and it is a good draw for us.
“In the first half they were a bit better than us and they didn’t show why they were at the bottom of the table but it was a fair point for both of teams.
“The main thing is to make sure you don’t lose when you cannot win and get that one point and that is important for our confidence. It probably wasn’t the greatest game to watch for the fans but it is the type of game you have to play and try to grind out the best result you can.”
With Wayne Bridge still sidelined, Calderon continued in the left-back berth and says he is happy to help out the team in any position as the squad turn their attentions to Bolton Wanderers.
“I have been playing on the left or the right since the beginning of the season to help the team because we have a big squad now. We have a lot of quality, more so than last season so you have to prove that you can play.
“We have two more games away and every game is different, so Saturday will be no different but we have to rest and get a good recovery ahead of Bolton.”
