Albion could be in for another trial of nerve and patience today.
Huddersfield will play three central midfielders and attempt to be hard to break down.
James Vaughan will operate as their only out-and-out striker though wide midfielders Theo Robinson and Sean Scannell are quick and have licence to break forward in support.
Recently-appointed boss Mark Robins saw his new side leak ten goals in his first two games in charge but has made adjustments since then.
His formation has been described as 4-5-1 by some keen Town observers – and 4-2-3-1 by others.
Oscar Gobern and Neil Danns are key men as the two more defensively-minded central midfielders.
They are joined in the engine room by the more creative Adam Clayton.
The uncompromising pair of Anthony Gerrard and Peter Clarke have been re-united in central defence with former Albion youngster Joel Lynch on the bench.
Huddersfield’s 1-0 win at Burnley on Tuesday was only their second success in 18 league games and has restored confidence ahead of today’s game.
Robins is expect to name an unchanged team and will, first and foremost, urge his side to be tight at the back at The Amex – but with an eye to nicking something.
The Terriers chief said: “It will be really tough and we have to be on our game but I think we can cause them a few problems.”
Albion and Huddersfield are among six Championship teams who have kept clean sheets in both their last two fixtures.
But the Seagulls have scored in their last 11 league games, a record no Championship rival can beat and only Barnsley can match.
Huddersfield are the only team in the Championship who have conceded an average of more than two goals per game away from home.
