Volunteers will be out in force at the Amex today raising awareness about lung cancer as part of AITC’s ongoing Be Clear on Cancer campaign.
The campaign backed by Gus Poyet and Albion season ticket holder Mark Dahr, who survived lung cancer last year and returned to work as a fireman, aims to raise awareness of the early signs and symptoms of the illness.
The AITC volunteers will be handing out special symptom checker cards and speaking to fans in the South and West Stand concourses.
AITC health trainer, Steve Cole said, “Our message is quite a simple one. We know that if people are diagnosed early they have a far better chancing of surviving cancer. So if you think you are suffering from one of the symptoms particularly a persistent cough go to your doctor to get it checked. It could save your life."
