There were two red cards, three penalties and five goals as Albion’s youth ended a six-game winless streak in the league.Simon Rusk’s team ended a poor run of form in empathic fashion as they swatted aside Barnet in a 4-1 win, thanks to a brace a piece from Robin Deen and Elliot Levy.
And it was Levy who opened the scoring after ten minutes. The attacker was felled inside the area before dusting himself off to score the* subsequent spot-kick.
On the stroke of half-time the Seagulls extended their lead as they were awarded a second penalty for deliberate handball on the line, which saw the Barnet defender receive his marching orders.
Levy again stepped up and fired home as Rusk’s side entered the second half with a two-goal cushion.
However, the referee levelled the playing fields just after the break as Ryan Cooper received a second yellow card for a fairly innocuous challenge in the box, resulting in his dismissal and a penalty for the visitors.
The Bees buried the penalty, finding a way back into the game, and Albion had new signing Christian Walton to thank as he tipped, what looked to be an equaliser, round the post.
Albion pushed on and reaffirmed their dominance and Deen rose from the bench to grab two late goals, including a composed finish to round the Bees keeper before tapping into the empty net to secure an impressive 4-1 win.
Albion: (4-3-3) Walton; Barry, Rea, Cooper, Gray; Wiltshire (Lall 63), Peake, Asmundsson (Benham 81);* Harris (Deen 60), Levy, Rowhurst.
