Dean Hammond had four good chances against Blackburn
Dean Hammond was taking the positives after a frustrating night for him and Albion.
The Seagulls created a string of chances against Blackburn but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Midfielder Hammond had four attempts of his own at goal before the interval, the best being the first of two headers in first-half stoppage time.
The effort seemed destined for the net but visiting keeper Jake Kean somehow kept it out.
A 13th stalemate of the season has left Albion four points adrift of the play-off places but Hammond insists Albion can go to leaders Cardiff next Tuesday in positive mood.
He said: “It was a very good performance from us, especially the first 25 minutes when we were fantastic, one of the best performances of the season.
“We then let a goal in but we showed character to come back and still could have won the game.
“We take the positives – we played very well. It is disappointing not to win but it is another game unbeaten and we move on to the Cardiff game.”
As for his two chances at the end of the first half, Hammond felt he should have converted one of them.
He added: “The first one I should have scored, it was an opportunity missed. The second one was a little bit harder because it took a deflection and I was low to the floor.”
