Hull did not take long to look comfortable on the ball and dangerous out wide. Elmohamady whipped in a good*cross from the right and Upson had to be alert to get it away from Simpson in front of goal.

@PJBuckingham, whose tweet I just used, is the football writer for the Hull Daily Mail.

5:23pm
Hull had half a chance in the opening minute as a low cross came in from the right and Simpson shot well over on the turn. The move started in midfield with Koren, who was expected to get on the ball a lot for the Tigers.
Albion looked to be playing a midfield diamond with Orlandi its most forward member.

5:20pm
Match is now in progress. Albion playing North to South.

5:20pm
Right, with the teams now out, time to look at that Hull back three. James Chester is the odd man out as he is the only member of the trio never to have scored a winning goal for Albion. Jack Hobbs of Leicester netted a decisive*own goal when the Seagulls came from 2-0 to beat the Foxes 3-2 at Withdean in 2008. And it WAS McShane who got his head to that corner at Palace!

5:16pm
Nice to see Albion's VT wizard Kris Hawes include a Brian Horton goal in the pre-match sequence. He was a star for both these clubs.

5:14pm
Spot on from the man in Nevada. All about Albion winning. And the three games coming up all look tough - Hull, Blackburn and Cardiff.

5:10pm
A bizarre set of results in the 3pm games mean Albion remain eighth and are still five points off the play-offs. Win this match and they go to within a win of the top six. The flip side is there are a whole load of clubs breathing down their necks should they go on a bad run.

5:07pm
All of which means Hull operate with*a back three of Chester, Hobbs and McShane. From an Albion trivia point of view, Chester is the odd man out in that trio. Anyone out there know why?*

5:05pm
Hull's wing-backs are more "wing" than "backs". Elmohamady down the right and Brady on the left are very attacking players. Speaking to Sky Sports' experet summariser Peter Beagrie this week, he picked out Elmohamady v Bridge down that flank as a tussle to enjoy.

5:03pm
Full team news and line-ups are elsewhere on the site but key news, apart from the home strike pairing, is that Bruno returns and Bridcutt skippers the Seagulls. Upson makes his home debut. Albion do not start with either of their genuine wingers Buckley or LuaLua against a Hull side who operate with wing backs. Having said that, David Lopez was known as a wide player in his days in Spain, though maybe not really a flying winger.

5:01pm
So we have got what many fans wanted - Ulloa and Mackail-Smith alongside each other in attack. It's Albion v Hull in the late-afternoon Championship offering.*
