Fans flocked to England under-19s v Denmark last season
Stuart Pearce has called on a big crowd at The Amex to send England under-21s to the European Championships in style.
England will face Austria at Albion’s stadium on Monday, March 25 (7.45pm) in their final home friendly before Euro 2013, which takes place in Israel from June 5.
Liverpool trio Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and Jonjo Shelvey, Blackpool’s exciting winger Tom Ince and Team GB goalkeepers Jack Butland and Jason Steele are key members of Pearce’s squad.
Tickets will cost £10 (adults) and £5 (children) for the first under-21 international at the stadium.
England boss Pearce said: “We’ll certainly be turning up at Brighton with a really strong side. By that stage I hope to have in my mind somewhere near to the squad we’ll be looking to the European Championship in June.
“It will be worth people coming down to see some really promising players and, hopefully, a really good game.”
England have won their last seven games, a record at under-21 level, and beat Sweden 4-0 on Tuesday.
FA officials were impressed by The Amex when England under-19s beat Denmark at the venue last season in front of 17,000 fans.
Pearce expects another big turnout and has laid down the gauntlet for fans in Sussex to match their Southampton counterparts.
He said: “The infrastructure at Brighton, which they’ve built up over the last few years, is fantastic.
Gus Poyet is a great manager and the team are playing some good football. It’s a first rate stadium and everything is there for Brighton to go on to big things.
“We are delighted to be going there with the under-21s. We’ve been down to the South Coast before at Southampton and they always sell out for us so we are looking forward to something similar again.
“It’s a big game, being our last one at home before we go to Israel, so it would be great to have a big support there to get behind our young and exciting team.”
Family tickets are available for £20 (two adults, two children) while Charter Standard clubs and groups also receive discounts.
Tickets are available online at seagulls.co.uk, via the ticket line 0844 327 1901 and in person at both ticket offices, located at The Amex and near the clock tower in Queen’s Road, Brighton.
