Andrea Orlandi has urged Albion to get over their 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
But the midfielder admitted the Seagulls should have defended better against the Owls' threat from out wide.
Orlandi’s second-half goal was the one bright spot for Albion and briefly put the ten men back in the contest at 2-1.
Wednesday were strong from crosses and set-pieces, just as the visitors expected.
Orlandi said: “The gaffer told us before the game that is what they do.
“He showed us a couple of clips and they were just balls over and looking for the second balls.
“That is what we were expecting – crosses.
“I think from the first cross the striker was lucky because the ball hit his foot and then his head and went in.
“Obviously the game changed then. From set plays they are dangerous and they scored two more goals.
“We tried to play, they tried to play their way and I’m not saying it’s worse or better. It’s just the way they play.
“They won – let’s get over it.”
