Romain Vincelot and Matt McGiveron have had their contracts terminated by mutual consent.
Versatile Frenchman Vincelot joined the club during the summer of 2011, and helped the Seagulls consolidate in the Championship last season.
The 27-year-old made 20 Albion appearances last season, scoring one goal against Coventry City, but has become surplus to requirements and spent the first half of this campaign on loan with League Two title contenders Gillingham.
Albion boss Gus Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, “We thank Romain for his contribution to the club throughout his time at Brighton.
“He helped the side in many different positions last year but with the players we brought in over the summer he knew that his chances would be limited this season. We were honest with him and he was a great professional around the club and on the training ground.
“We wish him all the best of luck for the rest of his career.”
Former Liverpool scholar McGiveron joined the club on a development contract during the summer and featured regularly for the development squad, but failed to make the step-up to the senior set-up.
Vincelot and McGiveron are now free to sign for another club.
