Midfielder Liam Bridcutt says he is not concerned by the visit of Premier League Arsenal…
Albion midfielder Liam Bridcutt has encouraged the squad to enjoy the day against Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round, and insists he has no anxiety about facing the Premier League giants. He told seagulls.co.uk, “I don’t fear teams. We all know they have the quality that can hurt us with* the likes of Theo Walcott and his pace. Plus the quality that runs through the whole team will be difficult for us but it is a test we need to have if we want to progress to the Premier League, as these are the games we would be facing week in, week out.
“It is going to be a game for us to enjoy; we need to appreciate the experience and the challenge against some talented players.
“When you are young you want to play against the top players and that is the good thing about the FA Cup, you get that opportunity. It will be a day I am going to enjoy.”
The former Chelsea man also believes last season’s 6-1 FA Cup defeat at Liverpool taught the Seagulls some harsh lessons, which they will take into their tie with the Gunners.
“We have matured a lot since the Liverpool game, we have a lot more quality of our own and more experience; we are a year wiser.
“We know the mistakes we made at Anfield and it was embarrassing for us, but when you play against top teams you can get punished. We know we have to be better and be smarter this time.”
