David is keen to end his career in England
David has revealed plans to stay with Albion and finish his career in England.
The 30-year-old Spanish midfielder has become increasingly influential for the Seagulls since arriving on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao at the end of August.
He volleyed his first goal in open play at Birmingham on Saturday after grabbing the role of penalty taker and is keen to earn a new contract.
David, signed on a one-year deal, told The Argus: “My idea is to stay in England and if it is at Brighton all the better because me and my family are very happy here with the club and the city.
“I am training harder and I hope to have four or five years left, maybe more.
“It took a while to start with but I’ve had no problem adapting because of the club, team-mates and manager. I always wanted to play in England because of the atmosphere, teams and the league.
“Now I will keep training and trying to keep in the starting line-up.”
David is hoping for his eighth start in a row at Blackburn tonight after three goals in his last six outings, including penalties back-to-back at home to Millwall and Watford.
