Inigo Calderon made his comeback against Derby
INIGO Calderon is relieved to be back in the Albion team after a cruel injury.
A knee problem for the Seagulls’ second choice right-back coincided with Achilles trouble for first choice Bruno.
Fellow Spaniard David filled in but was pushed back into midfield as Calderon made his comeback and helped set up both goals in the 2-1 home win against Derby County.
He said: “It was a pity. I couldn’t play because of the knee injury when I knew I had a chance to play.
“It wasn’t the best time to be injured but you can’t do anything about it and just have to wait for your chance.’”
Albion are now eighth, within a win of the play-offs with a game in hand over most of their rivals.
Six teams are split by five points in a congested race led by Watford, currently occupying the final play-off spot.
Calderon said: “Everybody can beat everybody. I think it is one of the most competitive divisions in Europe.
“In the Premier League and La Liga there are are two, three or four teams always winning, but not in the Championship.”
