Ever tried to access the latest scores during half-time? Have you failed to upload a picture of yourself to your Facebook page at the Amex? Or maybe you just want to post a comment on Twitter about the game?
Data connectivity is never easy when you’re inside a stadium, with 25,000 others – but many supporters have expressed a desire for better connectivity via their smart phones or other mobile internet devices at the Amex on matchdays.
In light of this the club has embarked on a new project aimed at giving fans an enhanced service within the stadium.
Working with leading technology experts from Sussex University and local company Corridor Design, to trial a new form of networking technology – and we are asking for fans to help us in the research phase.*
As a part of this Digital Stadium project, we would like many fans as possible to fill out an online questionnaire about internet use within the stadium.*
All those who complete it will be entered into a draw to win a signed shirt and runner up prizes of the half-season review DVD. The questionnaire will close on 5th January 2013, and the winners will be notified within two weeks of this date.*
The next step of the plan is to demonstrate the technology using some volunteers at our home games during March, and in the New Year, the research team will be looking to recruit 100 season-ticket holders with android phones to help design and test early prototypes.*
We will also be providing incentives to participate, so if you are an interested season ticket holder, be sure to complete the questionnaire and register your interest in participating in this research.
