Will Buckley has a hamstring problem
ALBION will be without Will Buckley again for tomorrow’s trip to Ipswich.
And the winger’s chances of knocking Newcastle out of the FA Cup for the second season running are also in the balance.
Buckley missed Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat by his former club Watford with a recurrence of hamstring trouble.
He will definitely remain sidelined for the visit to Portman Road and manager Gus Poyet will decide later in the week whether to unleash him in Saturday’s third round tie against Newcastle at The Amex.
Buckley’s late goal dumped the Toon out of the competition at The Amex in the fourth round last year.
Poyet said of his latest setback: “The injury is not bad. He did it with the last sprint of the last game we played (against Millwall).
“If everything goes allright he should be fit for Newcastle. I am not sure if I will risk him for that game though.”
Ipswich are eight points and three places clear of the relegation zone after Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Wolves made it a triumphant return to Molineux for former Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy.
It was their fifth victory in seven games and Poyet warned: “Everything is going Ipswich’s way. They are winning games before that they couldn’t, so it’s going to be difficult, especially if we don’t improve at the back.”
