Paul Barber has thanked Albion fans for their great efforts travelling to the north west after the game against Blackburn Rovers was postponed earlier today...
As a special thank-you, supporters who pre-purchased their match ticket will be able to enjoy a free pie and drink at a future home game. The club will confirm details of how to claim this as soon as possible.Albion’s chief executive said, “We really appreciate our fans' great loyalty and fantastic support for the club just three days before Christmas. As a token of our gratitude we would like to offer fans who bought a Blackburn ticket a bite to eat and a drink on us at a future home game.
“We're very sorry that so many fans made such a long journey only to suffer from the late but unavoidable postponement of the game. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware of a pitch inspection until very late in the morning. It took place at 12.30 - once many of us had already arrived in the north-west.
“As soon as we were aware of the referee’s decision to postpone the match we made the announcement to inform our travelling supporters as quickly as possible. We thank everyone for making the huge effort and hope everyone has a safe journey home. We wish you everyone a Merry Christmas.”
The rearranged date for the Blackburn Rovers fixture will be announced in due course following discussions between both clubs. The original ticket will be valid for the rearranged game but if you are unable to attend, supporters can claim a full refund by visiting either of the club’s ticket offices, located at the Amex or in Queen’s Road, Brighton.
Please note, the original Blackburn ticket MUST be returned to the club to receive the refund.
