Albion players and coaching staff visit The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital...
Last Thursday Albion players and staff made their annual visit to The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital to visit and deliver presents to the children.
Albion players and Asda donated £1,000 worth of presents whilst the club also donated match tickets for the older children. Among the players who visited included left-back Wayne Bridge and Spanish midfielder Vicente, as well as Albion manager Gus Poyet and first-team coach Charlie Oatway.
Albion boss Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, “We saw plenty of kids, it was very busy and luckily we had plenty of presents. The players were fantastic with the kids and we saw lots of happy faces. I hope all the children are able to go home for Christmas and spend it with their families.”
The visit was coordinated by the Young Seagulls department and all of the gifts were wrapped by club and AITC staff.
The hospital was opened in 2007 by Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of medical and nursing care for children and young people. The hospital aims to provide parents, carers and guardians, as well as the children and young people being treated, with a comfortable, welcoming and safe environment.
Victoria Bares, a hospital play specialist, added, “I would like to say thank you to the club for organising the visit - it was the best we’ve had yet! The staff and families have all been talking about it and commenting on how nice it was for the players to give up their time and how lovely the presents were.”
