Why no close range, one-on-one with the keeper, shooting practice in the kick-in?

Leg out of the bed
I notice as part of the kick-in for the game, the ball is served up for the strikers and midfielders about twelve to fifteen yards out, which they control, then dispatch goalwards

It would seem that a lot of our missed chances in games are from a range of about 3 - 4 yards, and with a fair few of them one-on-ones with the keeper

My query is, why is there no close range one-on-one shooting practice against the starting keeper?

The outfield players would get some practice in this situation, and so would the keeper

Thanks for your time

Thanks for the post, but I'm afraid I can't answer that. I don't tend to get involved with the training, coaching or management of the team, anyone who has seen me play will vouch as to why. I subscribe to the "let the manager, manage" philosophy.
