Albion entertain Nottingham Forest tomorrow in the first of a pre-Christmas home double-header and Ferret has the tips...
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, for the fourth game running it is the draw that is the value betting proposition. BetButler offer odds of 3.6 about an outcome that has occurred eight times from the 21 league games that the Seagulls have competed in this term.
That compelling statistic suggests the true odds should be something like 13/8 or 2.63, meaning that, mathematically at least, 3.6 is massively overpriced.
Furthermore, a draw is a more than realistic proposition. Forest sit one place below Albion in the Championship, with just goal difference separating the two sides, and while over 90% of those present at the game will be hoping for a home success, a draw could still be seen as a creditable return, making this a bet that we could collect on for the second week running.
For the record, the other outright odds available are 2.00 for Brighton and 4.3 for Forest.
Can the ‘big Pole in our goal’ keep a clean sheet? *Odds of 2.1 that he does just that are tempting. 12.5 is on offer for a 0-0 scoreline. While again it could be seen as a negative proposition, the odds are simply too big to ignore (true odds being something in the region of 10.5).
I can't let you go without at least one blue-and-white flavoured punt, and - while it is an outside bet *- half-time/full-time of Forest/Brighton is a tantalising @ 32.00.
