Why would they reduce, from a commercial point of view it's a Premiership side and a big side, from a fans point of view most will want a ticket and will take up the "buy an extra for a friend" option so surely market forces dictate a reasonable price?

Yes you are missing something, its an additional game not on season ticket, also shown on terrestrial tv at lunchtime.
It won't sell out. I for one won't be going and how many Geordies do you think will bother?

I'm busy at that time & at £39 for a graveyard slot game moving stuff around ain't that appealing. Why do they think that with a ST you pay £25? per game, then £14 more for a 1st round cup game is appropriate?
