Andrea Orlandi has been ruled out for up to six weeks after suffering a broken rib, and further bruising, during the first half of Albion’s defeat at Crystal Palace.Albion boss Gus Poyet expected as much immediately after the game, and it is a set-back for the Seagulls given the Spaniard has become a regular in the Albion side with seven consecutive starts.
Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, “He’s been showing a lot of quality and that’s why he has been playing a lot recently. He has been showing why we brought him in during August so it’s a shame for him and a shame for the team, but these things happen.
“He had a few months without playing regularly at Swansea, but he has been playing plenty of games recently, which has helped his game. This will stop his improvements for a few weeks, but other players need to be ready.
“Players should always be ready to take their chance when injuries happen and this is no different. Someone else now has the chance to take his place.”
