Albion supprters are asked to donate their old winter clothes to help the homeless...
Will Buckley and Marcos Painter have been showing their support in a video promoting ‘Off the Fence’ charity, in order to encourage fans to donate their old winter clothes to help the homeless. There are hundreds of homeless people in Brighton and Hove who spend night after night in freezing temperatures and each year some needlessly perish from the cold.
With the predicted cold snap on the horizon – where temperatures could drop as low as -20 – it’s vital we all wrap up warm against the cold this winter.
Fans are encouraged to donate old coats, thick socks, shoes, old woolies, gloves and scarves that they no longer require.
Bring the items to the stadium before our home match against Bristol City on Tuesday 27th November and volunteers will collect them as you enter the ground.
The Albion and AITC are working with local charity, ‘Off the Fence,’ to support their Winter Survival Appeal with the goal of collecting any men’s winter clothing the supporters no longer needed.
“I get pretty cold sitting in the dugout on winter nights,” said Albion boss Gus Poyet, “…and that’s only for a couple of hours. Please give what clothing you can to help the homeless.”
All donations will be distributed to Brighton and Hove’s homeless.
You can also donate to the appeal by texting OTFF12£’amount’ to 70070. Just £10 buys a sleeping bag that could save a life.
