Craig Mackail-Smith rues missed opportunities in Albion's 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers...
Top scorer Craig Mackail-Smith says that Albion only have themselves to blame for the two points dropped against Bolton Wanderers.
*
The Seagulls dominated the contest at the Amex and were just seconds away from a 1-0 victory until David Ngog’s injury time strike broke Brighton hearts.
*
Mackail-Smith told seagulls.co.uk, “Everyone is disappointed because we had enough chances in the first half to put the game to bed. If we had done that we would have won the game comfortably but it just shows what happens if you don’t take your chances in this division.
*
“We shouldn’t have been in the position where a late goal matters, we should have been clear. We put the pressure on ourselves by not taking our chances.
*
“After we hit the bar a few times and missed a penalty every chance coming after that probably had an added bit of pressure because we wanted to make sure we scored.
*
“We played fantastically well, it is disappointing to drop the two points. We have to step* up to the plate again on Tuesday and make sure we take our chances.”
*
Meanwhile the Scottish international lauded Bruno for his performance after seeing the Spanish right back score his first goal for the club with a stunning 25 yard half-volley.
*
“He is fantastic, he gets up and down, has a great delivery and great composure on the ball. It is exactly what we need and he worked well on the right with Bucca [Will Buckley] and it is great to have him in the team.
*
“He scored a wonderful goal and hopefully he might chip in with a few more and then the rest of us can chip in with a few ourselves. He also has fantastic experience and played in one of the best leagues in the world, so you look up to him and hopefully he can pass his experiences on to the rest of the boys.”
