Albion were hit by a last-gasp Bolton equaliser as they failed to turn domination into three points at The Amex today.
David Ngog struck in the final seconds of added time to force a 1-1 draw and cancel out Bruno’s superb 54th-minute volley.
The Seagulls wasted a penalty and hit the woodwork three times in the first half.
They also had great chances to wrap up the points before Ngog tucked away Chris Eagles’ low cross.
Bruno took down a clearance and fired a fabulous 25-yard volley past Adam Bogdan for the breakthrough.
But Bogdan was otherwise in invincible form.
He dived to his right to keep out Ashley Barnes’ 15th-minute spot kick and then blocked a*miscued follow-up from the same striker.
Andrea Orlandi, Dean Hammond and Craig Mackail-Smith all struck the woodwork.
Barnes mis-kicked when presented with a great chance by the lively Will Buckley straight after the restart.
Once ahead, Albion continued to attack and Orlandi’s weak finish gave Bogdan the chance to save.
Orlandi later whipped a low shot inches wide.
Even in added time, the Hungarian international worked wonders to parry Will Hoskins’ shot at the end of a counter attack.
Albion thought the job was done when they blocked an Eagles free-kick.
But, with the hosts feeling time was up, there were still enough seconds for Ngog to strike with a nicely guided finish via the inside of the pist – and leave most of a crowd of 26,455 looking on disbelieving silence.
