Gus Poyet admitted Albion threw away a great chance to grab an away win at Wolves today.
The Seagulls played more than half the match against ten men but were pegged back to a 3-3 draw when Roger Johnson scored for the hosts in injury time.
An angry Poyet said: “I’m disappointed. As a group, we let too many people down today.
“It was not my team on the pitch.
“We don’t play for 3-3s, 4-4s, 5-5s. First we need to do the basics.
“It’s always someone, it’s always “because”, but it’s not good enough."
Poyet was unhappy with how his side failed to make the most of their one-man advantage after Karl Henry was dismissed when the score was 1-1.
He added: “We didn’t use it the right way. We didn’t know as a team how to play.
“We didn’t know how to take advantage.
“We didn’t know how to maintain that scoreshet for long periods and to go 3-1 up, 4-1 up.
“There is no one to blame apart from ourseelves.
“There are basics in football and you need to be aware. Unfortunately we didn’t do it. It’s a bad day.”
