On the more positive side, a win here for the Seagulls takes them above Huddersfield or Blackburn unless their match-up tonight at what is now the John Smith's Stadium ends as a draw.

The Seagulls could certainly do with a win tonight. They are only three points off sixth place and have a pretty healthy goal difference. But just look at those teams closing up behind them in readiness for further slip-ups. Three teams are below the Seagulls on goal difference only – including Burnley and Leeds who play each other tonight at Turf Moor. Two teams are a single point behind (Watford and Millwall, who meet at Vicarage Road this evening) and two more sides are just two points behind. So Albion can expect to slip from their current tenth place if they drop points here this evening.*

The team news and line-ups have been posted elsewhere on this section of the site. As well as the return of Dunk and Crofts to the XI, also worth noting Will Hoskins is on what looks a very attack-minded subs' bench.

Okay, I’m not going to venture any further into rhyme. But it is a year ago today that Albion halted their nine-game winless run by beating Barnsley here at The Amex with Gordon Greer and Ryan Harley on target. The Seagulls have gone seven without victory this time around going into tonight’s home game against Peterborough. I’ve heard lots of comparisons being made between Albion’s form this season and what they did last year, with the bright, table-topping start and then the dip in form. So how about making it a happy anniversary and halting the slide again on November 6?

7:26pm
“Remember, remember the sixth of November. Greer and Harley scored goals.”
