9:37pm
Albion had one last chance deep in added time but Barnes fired just wide from 20 yards after their best player on the night Buckley had got away down the right.

9:30pm
We thought it was Barnes, the ref said Vardy. Either way, a header from Bridcutt's corner flashed just over the bar as Albion chased a leveller.

9:28pm
Little had been seen of Bruno as an attacking force but he whipped in a terrific cross which glanced off the head of Mackail-Smith and wide.

9:22pm
Hammond replaced Crofts in the 78th minute but it was hard to see Albion dragging themselves level.

9:18pm
Leicester sent on Marshall and Vardy to liven up their attack and a brief spell of pressure almost saw them put the game out of sight as King's low shot skidded across Kuszczak's dive and just past the far post on 75 minutes.

9:13pm
By now Dicker had made way for Dobbie.

9:12pm
Albion continued to push forward but were struggling to create chances, making that penalty failure all the more galling. Bridcutt's bad pass gave City a chance to counter attack and the midfiuelder was booked for his foul as he looked to*make a recovery tackle.*

9:04pm
Attendance: 25,726 (635 away)

9:00pm
De Laet was booked for delaying the spot kick. Barnes then saw his penalty saved by Schmeichel low to his left - and the Albion striker hooked the rebound over the bar with a right-foot shot as he stretched to make amends.

8:58pm
Buckley threw Albion a lifeline in the 53rd minute when he glided past Konchesky and was then pushed over by the covering Whitbread in the area. The assistant referee was close to the incident and signalled for a penalty.

8:54pm
City, though, replied quickly and Kuszczak had to put up a strong arm to parry a cross-shot from Nugent.

8:52pm
Albion started the half quite brightly. They got in two crosses and then Dicker switched play with a terrific pass to create space for Buckley on the right edge of the area. But he looked to take on Konchesky when he already had room to cross or shoot and the left-back was happy to usher the ball back to his keeper.

8:47pm
Second half gets under way.

8:32pm
Leicester were on the back foot as the half drew to a close. Buckley got away from two men down the right before his cross was cleared. Schmeichel had still not had serious action though – and that did not change as Buckley ran out of room on the byline as he looked to get behind Konchesky during the one added minute at the end of the half

8:28pm
The Danish keeper had slightly more taxing work in the 41st minute as he fielded a low shot by Mackail-Smith from outside the penalty area.

8:27pm
For the first time, as the game passed the 35th minute mark, there were a few mumblings of discontent from home fans as Albion got more of the ball. Still there was no serious threat of a goal but Schmeichel had to grab the ball hurriedly as it*looked like it might*drop for Barnes after a free-kick.

8:21pm
"We're top of the league," chorused home fans as Albion looked in vain for a way back into the contest. Bridcutt's free-kick from the right gave Mackail-Smith a chance to head the ball into the danger area but El-Abd could not get there before it drifted into the waiting hands of Schmeichel.

8:14pm
Leicester threatened again when an Albion move broke down. Waghorn laid the ball off to Knockaert, whose 25-yatrd blast was parried by Kuszczak. It was City's fifth effort on target - against none by Albion.

8:10pm
But that was a rare moment of hope against a home side looking full of confidence. Knockaert showed trickery on the right hand side of the area before delivering a cross which the diving Kuszczak could only knock down into the heart of the penalty area - but there was*no home striker there to take advantage.*

8:08pm
After that tough opening, Albion manged to get a foothold in the game and Schmeichel had to tip away a free-kick arrowed in from the left by Bridcutt looking for a far post runner.

8:02pm
It could have been worse for Albion but Waghorn hooked a good chance over the bar from close range.

7:59pm
It was a good start by the leaders though and they went ahead in the tenth minute.*Nugent got away from Bridcutt on the home left and sent King bursting into the area. El-Abd got across to make what looked a crucial challenge but KING followed up to finish.

7:55pm
The pitch and ball were on the greasy side on a damp, misty evening and Kuszczak took no chances when Waghorn let fly with*a 25-yard free-kick, pushing the seventh-minute effort aside for a corner. That was the start of a squall of City pressure, which brought four flag kicks in quick succession. But Albion held firm and got bodies in the way of shots when required.

7:50pm
Albion made a bright start, with Will Buckley winning a corner. But the delivery was poor from Bridcutt and Barnes was crowded out as he looked to make something of it.

7:46pm
Kick-off. A reminder this service is now subject to a three-minute delay while the match is in in progress.

7:45pm
We now have a pre-game Hey Jude!

7:42pm
Teams are on their way out, Albion are*in their nice bright green and black stripes with black shorts and green socks.

7:39pm
Referee tonight is Neil Swarbrick - not Mark Halsey as was, and indeed still is, listed on the Football League's website.

7:33pm
A big crowd is expected here tonight although it looks it will build up very quickly in the last 10-12mins before kick-off. Stands are quite sparsely populated at the moment.

7:26pm
Leicester have won all five at home in the league this season. Arguably their toughest test among those five was at home to Blackpool when the Tangerines were flying. They have also beaten Peterborough, Burnley (who were missing Charlie Austin), Hull and Bristol City.

7:24pm
It's a slightly misty evening here in Leicester but nothing which will affect the game. By common consent, this is the Championship's game of the night.

7:16pm
Welcome to the King Power Stadium. Main team news is elsewhere on this site but, basically, it's Dicker and Buckley in for Hammond and David while Leicester are unchanged.
