How do you block someone's number from a mobile?

Someone at work has loaded up an app that blocks texts and calls to stop an ex girlfriend hasseling him. No idea what it's called and he's got an adroid phone so I presume it's available for apple. Sorry I can't be more specific

Can't be done apparently, I tried to get Orange to block text and calls from 1 number last yr and they could'nt.

Just text my work mate and the Android app is called call control, and it's free.
No app available for the iPhone. If you have an IPhone all you can do is set their number to silent

Some old school phones also have a block list or screened numbers list where it wont ring through. All texts are sent to another folder as well. Obviously this is if you don't have a smart phone.

I had this; it was easy to do it with my BT line, but not with Orange.

i think most phones have option to add 'block number' in contacts..
