I love "live" albums. Prefer them to studio ones.

My Top Three are

Genesis - Seconds Out
Frampton Comes Alive
One More From the Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd

What I have loved about this thread so far is that I have either had, or forgot I had most of these albums.

Sometimes buying "Live," was far better than a Greatest hits collection.

"It's good to see you've all been reading your News of the World and are spitting just like punks are supposed to be...I don't particularly like being spat at while I'm playing, but if you get off on it, that's up to your, er, intellect, I suppose.'

I used to love Hugh Cornwell's sneery comments at the audience ('You're all stood there like you're waiting for a train.')

Reading Festival 1983: "So, there are 30,000 people here, and 21,000 free condoms have been handed out. That means that there must be 9,000 wankers out there."

I'll agree with

U2 Blood red sky
Springsteen 75-79
Deep Purple - Japan
Marillion - Thieving Magpie

for Rush Id rather go with Exit... stage left

Disgaree with Ultravox as I dont think any of the albums captured the fantastic performances they gave on stage. Same with Simple Minds... it soooooo needed a better version

Raise you with....

Micheal Shenker Group - One Night in Budokan -average band, super concert
Big Country - Without the aid of a safety net
Fish- Krakow

Def Leppard would have had a brilliant live album but didnt release until Mirrorball in 2011 which was frankly underwhelming.

Would have loved a Feeder live album too

Very difficult to catch that feeling of 'being there' on an album, just wondered what the great and good of NSC consider to be great live albums.

I'll kick off with my favourites.....

1. Springsteen Live 75-95 (I know it's more of an anthology than a concert but still great)
2. 'Hanx' - Stiff Little Fingers

Your number 1 is the correct answer

Given @Surf’s Up comment in the Stones thread thought I’d bounce this. A worthy Friday discussion.
