With too many games in a short space of time, Brighton lost their unbeaten League home record 1-3 to Crystal Palace in an atypical performance in the clash earlier in the season.

A tense game is in prospect at the bleak and cold Selhurst Park, officiated by the controversial STUART ATTWELL. He has been accused of micro-managing games blowing the whistle at a hint of an infringement.

Two-thirds of Brighton fans are forecasting an outright victory. I think it will go to the wire with Palace being strong finishers this season. Brighton had to wait to the 76 minutes to score in their last two FA Cup games. Will Buckley had to wait until two minutes from the end to net the winner away to Peterborough.

Head-to-head
• These clubs have faced each other 85 times in the league; Crystal Palace have won 31, Brighton 34, with 20 drawn.
• Palace are looking for a third successive league win over the Seagulls, having scored three goals in each of the previous two.
• Brighton won their last visit to Selhurst Park 1-0 in October 2005, ending Palace's run of four successive home league wins over these opponents.

Crystal Palace
• Crystal Palace pick up the league reigns for the first time after failing to reach Wembley for the Carling Cup final.
• The Eagles have won 10 and lost 10 of their 27 Championship games, and find themselves eight points below the top six.
• They have also conceded a goal a game on average in this league campaign.

Brighton
• The Seagulls, who have the prospect of a visit to Liverpool in the FA Cup after knocking out Newcastle, are one of two clubs boasting a 100% record in the Championship in 2012.
• They are vying for a fourth successive league win and their best sequence of the season, to close the four point gap between themselves and the play-offs.
• Gus Poyet's men have mounted the fewest goal attempts in the Championship, with 110 of their 228 on target.
