Head-to-head
• Southampton hold a 17 wins to seven lead over Brighton, after 34 league meetings.
• Brighton have won one of the last nine league matches against the Saints.
• The 3-1 win in November 2009, is the most recent of the Seagulls' three league triumphs on Southampton soil.

• Southampton are bidding for a fourth successive league win, which would extend their club record run of consecutive home league victories to 18 (and 20 in all competitions).

• Brighton gained their first win in 11 league and cup matches with a 2-0 home triumph over Barnsley last time out.
• Gus Poyet's side are without an away League victory in five, having drawn two and lost three since a 1-0 win at Bristol City on 10 September.
• The Seagulls have the worst disciplinary record in the Championship, with their players shown 37 cards (1R, 36Y).

*The league position is recorded on the main match day that weekend, we played on sunday last time, so our move up to tenth isn't included.

Guaranteed red card/s in this match. If we are up to our best we can get the win. Early goal for Southampton and it could be a tonking for us. Oh well, at least it's sunny :)

I have an idea that we are going to really up for this one. Buckley to run them ragged - if fit.

Abort, retry, fail
Peter Walton refereed one of my favourite games at Withdean. Our 6-2 defeat of Torquay United, whereby the Gulls' Jimmy Aggrey was looking to kill him after being sent off.

The last time he controlled one of our games was way back in 2007. A 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe at Withdean. Beckford put them ahead, Basir Savage equalised for us and Matt Sparrow was sent off in injury time.
