Can anyone please help? I was thinking today of songs that name-check other songs and the Faithless track "Don't Leave" is one. The lyrics are:....

..There's a record you used to play, There's Judy singing 'best to be without you..'

I always thought it was Joni as in Mitchell but Google seems to suggest it's Judy. Do they mean Judy Collins? Garland? I can't find what song they are on about at all. Has anyone any idea what the song is? Here's the Faithless track. The pertinent bit starts at 1:38.

I probably won't be able to sleep until I know it. Please help...

...just listened to it again and I'm positive it's 'Joni'...and it sounds like "Bed's too big without you" which is what I always presumed it was before I googled the lyrics. But that was the Police...unless a Judy Whatever covered it.

aaarrrggghhh......

Worthing
'The beds too big ' is a lyric from the track, 'My old man' by Joni M.

But when he`s gone,
me and them lonesome blues collide,
The beds too big
the frying pans too wide..
