Upgrade of child to adult ticket (Palace)

Hi,

My son cannot now attend due to illness and I've been informed that as this game is sold out I cannot upgrade his season ticket to an adult (wife) and remain in the family stand. Apparently I can though, attend alone. Could you please confirm this is correct because I was under the impression discretion would/could be applied in such cases? The club are turning away custom/atmosphere if others find themselves in similar positions.

Yes, this is club policy in the family stand. Usually they would move you to another area of the ground, but due to the fact the match is sold out there are not any other seats available.
