Women retire at 60 (at the moment!)

Hi, my wife is retired (62) and drawing her state pension. She is a season ticket holder but was charged full adult price. Should she have had a reduced price? If so, can she change it now the direct debit is in operation and she has paid a few months already?

In short, no, she is paying the correct amount. Our senior citizen threshold is 65 for male and female in line with new state pension rules. We did used to have a split 60 for women and 65 for men, but were advised this is actually sexual discrimination and made it 65 for both sexes a few years ago. Therefore for any fans who were in the 60-65 bracket we allowed them to continue purchasing a concessionary price, but as your wife will have been under 60 at that stage she will have to wait until she is 65 to pay the concessionary price. Sorry!
