It landed on the cycling track about Preston Park. It was the Surrey air ambulance.
A girl crashed her bicycle and took a very hard hit to the head. Pool of blood, neck brace and so on. She didn't appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. :’( She was moving which must be a good sign.

I don't think it is wise to be judgmental when it comes to this sort of thing. Particularly when her condition is unknown. She might have been wearing one, but it wasn't evident from the scene of the accident.
Boris bikes seem to promote cycling without a helmet. How many spur of the moment cyclists carry a helmet around with them.
Not sure what took so long for it to take off. The road ambulance took her away a long time ago. Maybe waiting for it's next call.

3 Helicopter gun ships over Heathfield yesterday afternoon
I'll ignore Gazwag's stupid comment.
FYI she was a friend of mine with 2 young children.
She was running around the track and a bike hit her.
She had very bad head injuries but fortunately a nurse was at a BMF session in the park and saved her life.
Just heard her brain scan is all clear which is good.
Not back to consciousness yet but looking far better than it was this morning.

Excellent news.
So sorry that I misintepreted the situation. I was told by a passer-by that she flipped off her bike and that is how she was injured.
Were you in attendance? I arrived when all the ambulances and the chopper were there.
Please do keep me updated as to her condition.
She's still not come around but is stable in hospital. No need to move her to a neurologigal unit elsewhere as the brain scan was OK, so that's good.
I wasn't there but another of the mums who has kids at our school was and helped her.
Horrible to see her kids at school this morning with their dad who's in bits.
Fingers crossed.
