Arrested at 3am in Wilmslow (Cheshire) in a Black Mercedes V-Class (Minibus) only a few hours after playing Fulham at Craven Cottage.

There is a story that basically a few of the Burnley lads all live in Wilmslow, so he bought a mini bus to drive them all in to training.

This seems like a very surprising turn of events. Barnes always came across as very family orientated and sensible off the pitch: certainly doesn't strike me as the sort of arrogant idiot who would go and put himself/ others at risk like this. Unless he's got stuff going on away from football that have affected him.

That was a year or two back. Only the two Ashleys, Barnes and Westwood, tend to use it now.
It does seem out of character. We don't know whether he was blind drunk or marginally over the limit, of course. Chances are, like so many other fools before him, he had planned not to drink on the bus so he'd be sober, and then when he had a drink, he persuaded himself he would be under the limit and/or wouldn't get caught.
Sean Dyche won't be happy.

I’ll let you into a secret. He signed my shirt for me and the late Sarah Watts embroidered over his writing so if the ink faded, the embroidery would stay.
That shirt now reminds me of two legends.
He saw it in Marbella at a preseason friendly, and was very impressed.
