Is that the 'grimiest' or 'grimest'

The grimiest must have been Manchester in the 70's tho' it's pretty good now.

Grimest has to be Bolton.

I drove through Workington earlier this year. They had one Christmas Snowman decoration hanging up on one lampost. Looked like it had been up for months.
It was a street full of just bookies and takeaways. Very few people about, but most in track suits and pushing prams.
I would recommend you have a look at it before closing this thread. Its quite amazing.

Grimsby/Cleethorpes and Luton are the worst two.

Gillingham is an awful place too.

Oh and its not exactly grim, but Milton Keynes on both occasions has just been so so soulless, not sure if i've seen the whole center, but it was just weird.

Whitehaven just down the road is very similar.

I was there Wednesday. Not as bad as Workington. Puzzling though because there's loads of new housing in Whitehaven. Why would you want to live there?
