....following on from Hitler wanting to live at the Pavilion in the other thread any one know any others?

Waterhall is earmarked as the next Brighton and Hove cemetery which is why the Albion weren't allowed to build on it.

There is a an old smugglers tunnel between the Brighton Centre and the Dome.

The Noble Brothers 'organised' the West Pier fire. (hmmm)

Anymore?

Nestling in green nowhere
  • The Old Steine was once a Druidic "stone circle" a' la Stonehenge
  • There is a shipwreck just off Brighton which contains tons of wartime munitions which -were it to go off- would destroy the Marina
  • A 15ft Tiger Shark washed up on Brighton beach in the 1700's
  • A Ghost ship-The Nicholas- is sometimes sighted off brighton and presages doom

The teapot on the roof of 'The Sussex Coaster' pub in Peacehaven; put there because the landlord didn't make the people replacing the roof [after the Great Storm in 1987] a cup of tea all the time they were there.

Woodingdean is the site of the deepest hand dug well in the world at 1,285 feet, equal roughly to the height of the empire state building.

Southwick tunnel is an entrance to an intricate network of underground space which is used for one or more of several things listed below hence why it is closed at night-time for such a disporportionate amount of time and why it took 18 months longer than planned to build.

1) Future nuclear bunker
2) UFO hiding place
3) Military base for experimental aircraft/vehicles
4) The largest private collection of pornography in the world
5) The home of all the gold bullion owned by the bank of England
