Who is Brightons highest ever goal scorer?

I'm presuming it Sir Bobby Zamora If so why are we still singing about Peter Ward? Ward was great but I do feel surely Bobby has to be the true legend for what we acheived with him and how many games he won us. Could even be playing in South Africa this summer..........

Anyway if you know the highest goal scorer fill me in, thanx.

There is one main difference between the two players. Ward played most of his games for us at a higher level than Zamora. It's debatable whether Zamora would have been so prolific at Championship level let alone Premier.

Neither Zamora or Ward are anywhere near Brighton's highest goalscorer...
the record holder has scored well over a hundred, which neither of the above got to.

I know it's not gospel but wikipedia says Zamora is our highest ever goal scorer

Zamora left Brighton and Hove Albion as the club's highest-ever goalscorer and remains to this day one of the most revered Brighton players of all time.

Neither Ward nor Zamora makes the top 3 Albion scorers.

Top is Bert Stephens with 174 goals, Tommy Cook with 123 and Jock Davie with 120.

Kit Napier is next with 99 and then, it's Peter Ward with 95 (shared with Bobby Farrell)

Bobby ZAmora scored 76 making him 11th in the all-time list.

Top scorer in terms of goals per game is Arthur Attwood who averaged 0.72 goals per game.

Wiki is obviously sponsored by Sky - there was no football before 1992.

Is the right answer....but only because that was what I was going to post.

Can anyone remember the precise details of what were surely allegations, rather than facts?
