I think Norris has had a good season, a solid driver, nothing stupid. It would be interesting to see how quick he'd be in a decent car, and how cometitive he'd be with the petulant/agressive ones at the front to contend with.
Vettel should be gardening prety soon so possibly a seat available...
Except Ricciardo is a better racer than most out there and in a decent car would probably give Leclerc a harder time than needed. Certainly a harder time than Vettel.
There are a number of reasons for spinning besides being a ****. I've done them all in my 15 years racing . .lack of concentration is usually the cause . . . .several people had moments at the same point so there may have been something on the track, but SV would have known so the only reason...
I agree, Add to that Ricciardo who can race with the best of them, the Renault is getting there slowly, Norris, who looks every bit as good as his car, and a few others. What we really want is less downforce and more driver.
As far as youth/experience are concerned, none of these guys are...
he wasn't, he pulled alongside, Lelerc then got ahead . . . half a car. He could have given Hamilton a bit more room, but wanted the best line through for himself . . . . or would have compromised his own line, it was a bit agressive, but Hamilton knew what was coming. a warning was fair...
They certainly need protecting from Vettel at the moment. I think Leclerc had every right to take his line . . . . Hamilton would have done the same . . .its happened to me at Spa a few years back, I was livid at the time, because I was trying so hard to overtake, but on reflection, had to back...
Yes. The reality and rules of racing cars. CL was half a car ahead and taking the line . . . . It's the other drivers choice to back down or take the risk.
Fair, and I agree, Hamilton is 'better' but on his day Button, like many others can match or better him, he ain't perfect.
I like Buttons driving style, smooth. A la Prost. reminded me of many amateurs, like my self, who pay for it!
Agreed. Like Hunt Lauda. . .and others going back further , fight on the black bit, but life goes on, often together, away from all that.
Funny that the TV twats always used to go on about how Rosberg and Hamilton grew up and raced karts together. . .their upbringings couldn't have been much...
Brundle isn't bad, but I've always thought he was a corporate slag, as an average F1 driver, he knows which side his breads buttered and will not upset the apple cart, he was down the back of Mr Burn(ies) trousers every weekend until he got ousted.
Hamilton ( and fast catching MV) are the class...
F1 is generally dull compared compared to most motorsport, but today combined everything from The. sublime to the ridiculous. Rather entertaining I thought.
A reasonable amount of it is quicker then that. Particularly corrections. I've never done single seaters, only saloons and GT cars, and historic stuff at that, but when racing hard, concentration levels are extremely high, also old cars require a lot more physicality. No power assistance in...
Yawn.
Watched first 3 laps, cooked and ate breakfast read paper, watched last 3 laps. It's not difficult to see why historic motorsport has so much popularity.
