We did a gig with the nightingales a few years ago, they were lazy ****s, insisted on using all our gear and were frankly less than bang average . . . . More than A few die hards thought we were better On the day. I'd never heard of them so was impartial.

I don't suppose theres a recording, but just after Steve Marriott died I saw Paul Weller at the Top Rank in Brighton, He played Tin Soldier in tribute, quite a stirring and very soulful rendition of an equally soulful song. not better, but it came from the heart and you could hear/feel that.
