I think Jones was just being professional in the way he spoke, and was never going to say "If it wasn't for Brezovan's mistake we wouldn't have lost confidence" And yes it was an anti climax.
He did also say that both goals were poor so he knew where it went tits up and the affect it...
I know what Jones said, and to be clear I said "we started well" (first 10 mins were fine) "and then played like any other team who lost confidence in their keeper, and who needed extra protection for the rest of the half."
We were in danger of getting drummed 4 or 5-0, yet we still clawed one...
Not at all, we started well, and then played like any other team who lost confidence in their keeper, and who needed extra protection for the rest of the half.
Their second goal should not have counted and we did well to get back into the game, to the point of almost believing we could have got...
Yep it looks like his gloves and feet were laden with lead. I could forgive him he he was scambling to get the ball but he gave up and left it for the shortest player on the pitch.
Absolute rubbish, he made basic errors with that goal. First he came off his line for a ball he could never have reached, and when he got back he stopped and watched the ball go in without a fight or raising his hands above his waste.
I can’t find any excuses for Brezovan's performance tonight, as soon as you let in a goal like that, and especially as early in the game as it was, meant that the team had to protect him more. He basically kicked the team in the bollocks.
It might be because he is so tall that messages take...
