It makes the journey around Vogue Gyratory [northbound] safer but as for the rest of it I never had any issues before, and personally I don't find the cycle lanes are any safer /easier to use now.

One thing (IMO) I can never see happening is a congestion charge. Brighton relies on tourism and this would put thousands off coming in on a day trip.

Took around 15 mins to drive down Combe road today. All traffic Turning left at the bottom was in a que which backed up the road. No one was able to turn right without driving on the wrong side of Combe road down from around Dewe road to the bottom. Got no evidence to back it up but cannot see...
