Those naughty banks; luckily the government are on their case.....

Imagine the turnout if we weren't laughably insisting on personal or postal vote in 2015? We could have a scenario where it's easier to vote than not vote. It's almost as it's archaic to deliberately put us off with engaging with it. (Election night wouldn't be as fun though.)

Turnout wouldn't really indicate that. We had a deeply unpopular, failed Government in the 2010 election and only 65% of people turned out, 2005 was 61% and 2001, an absolutely pitiful 59%. 2001 was the first time it had ever been under 70% from a post-war peak in excess of 80%. The post war...

I genuinely think all of us need to stop voting for things because they are less bad than other things. Find something that represents you and if nothing does, create it.

I think you've missed my point. Reread what I wrote. I'm say this party resents it's reliance on the union and would love to be funded the same way the Tories are. You seriously think this Labour Party is pro-union?? What's their policy on austerity?? How will they regulate the banks?? Blair...

Actually I'd disagree. At least you know where the Tories stand. I strongly suspect Labour are all talk. If there's one thing they hate more than taking donations off tax dodgers, it's being beholden to the Unions. Lesser of two evils in their eyes.

I genuinely despair for the people framing this as a party political issue. The Tories, Labour, Lib Dems and UKIP are all desperate for these people's money. That some choose to pay lip service to stopping the rich doing exactly as they please with their money and others don't is merely window...

Wouldn't some high profile court cases deter people from breaking the law again in the future? Or is deterrant only a concept that works with poor people? You make it sound like these people did HMRC a favour.

Which can be for legal tax avoidance purposes? We're talking knowlingly assisting in tax evasion here. Us "looney-lefties" (Translation: People that think taxation shouldn't be optional) are always being shouted down on here by people saying that there's a big difference between illegal evasion...

    1. It appears they were complicit in tax evasion, as well as tax avoidance 2. It looks like they've been laundering dirty money (again.) HSBC's fault. As far as the politicans go, they should all be embarassed. They've all sucked up to Stephen Green at one point or another, this looks to me...

This'll be the same HSBC that was laundering the Mexican drug cartels money and got away with a fine, a few resignations and saying sorry. http://www.theguardian.com/business/2012/jul/17/hsbc-executive-resigns-senate There's clearly evidence of illegal behaviour here - this isn't just a case...
