I'm in the reverse boat, had no intention of seeing the Foos and my plan was to split between Hot Chip and SFA. Therefore, Blur annoucing could make my weekend.
Who will replace the Foos then?
I suspect that Florence will get bumped up but Blur are all set up to play Hyde Park the next day. I can't imagine the bods at BST would be anything other than supportive if they were asked bearing in mind the their gig on the Saturday isn't sold out and Blur...
Yeah, I get it but that is such a bad clash. If I had a modicum of interest in hip-hop I'm likely to want to see both. Parliament/ Funkdelic and Family Stone have to be the most sampled acts in hip-hop.
Kanye West will be excellent. His ego dictates that he needs to being his A game for a gig as big as this and he has the strongest back catalogie of any contempary pop musican to debut after 2000. I understand he can be a dick but musically the guy will be remembered as the artist of this era...
Can I get my money back? (From the e festivals website, link here - http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glastonbury/info-special.shtml)
'Stomping around, ankle deep in mud, pretty much wasted, feeling sorry for myself cos I'd just lost £30 and my boots were leaking, I noticed somebody walking...
Sorry, the Sunday then - she's in the country so it would be relatively simple. Munkfish is probably right, maybe more of an afternoon slot but she's not without pedigree, the critics have come round, sales are no problem at all and Glasto does like to be ahead of the crowd.
I heard Taylor Swift on Saturday, which might just work. I strongly doubt I'd be there though. I'd really hope that one of the headliners is a unifying heritage act with strong critical and commercial heritage, a Fleetwood Mac or Prince or something like that. I'd be up for AC/DC but unlikely if...
After my tirade of bitterness earlier in the thread, I'm happy to report I'm now going.
I'm not impressed with Foo Fighters but many will be, fair enough. I'd like there to be one "heritage" wow headliner (preferably Prince.) I hear that Coldplay are nailed on for one of the other headlines as...
I'd be in full support of that. Failing that, some form of music knowledge/ drug intake based questionaire might be sufficient.
I'm not a tyrant, I'm not insisting that they pass both areas. A sufficient knowledge of one or the other would be fine.
