Ulloa and Buckley I am not sure we could have done anything about keeping. But Ward, Upson and Koosh was surely about money.
On top of these we also lost Andrews, not sure if we tried to keep him and earlier in the season Bridcutt, Barnes and ElAbd.
So around ten players lost that got us to the...
Actually I agree with you, but it was a shame we let 8 of that squad of players go, or slip through our fingers. It was a shame we didn't build on that squad instead of decimating it for cheaper options.
1 How can the demand vary, surely after two seasons the season tickets had not fallen, so why would the demand fallen for these buses. Surely after two seasons usage and demand must have been known?.
Why did they have more complaints from these routes as opposed to the remaining routes and are...
I did at the time, I went to the ground but, was met by the customer services manager who offered to return my season ticket money.
It didn't matter to her that I still wanted to support my club. And of course that season they still had a waiting list for ST's.
So do you think at the time, when the plan was to increase the transport subsidy on every ticket by up to £50, he did not know that 2 months later he would scrap those two bus routes and hand them over to Seagulls Travel, to charge those fans a further £75. Do you think that was all negotiated...
I will give you a specific. How about the pre season that he informed us that all season tickets were to increase by up to £50 to cover transport costs, then when all tickets were renewed, he informed supporters who had paid the £50 that their special buses from Shoreham and Rottingdean were no...
A good argument in isolation, but did they also lose their best defenders (Upson & Ward) a midfielder (Andrews) and another £2 million player (Buckley) on top of losing Ulloa. Did they decimate their squad to end up top of the league?
I think this comment by Barber was picked up by some fans of other clubs/rivals, who interpreted this comment as being rather premature and arrogant. I think the timing of the statement was very unfortunate to say the least as it proved.
I think this is a very valid point and recent promotion winning teams from this division have proved this, Burnley and Palace by getting promoted without spending huge amounts.
So that leaves the quality of recruitment and how you spend the money you do have.
Obviously Tony Bloom felt that...
Ungrateful? When someone like Henfield One feels like this, the club needs to be worried, he did so much in saving this great club in the past. How people forget so easily how hard some fought I find unbelievable.
59 years I have been following the Albion and I have seen some real crap, but it was played by MY TEAM, who I loved and would follow anywhere, but I feel the same as the Henfield One. It no longer feels like my club any more.
